Process Over Outcome

[I need your help in getting to know you better, so I can serve you better – do you have two minutes to answer these questions? I am giving away 3 creative advising 1-on-1 sessions with me among all who participate. Thank you so much!]

Here is an unpopular opinion of mine:

Forget about “building an audience” and “monetizing your passion”.

Forget about outcomes.

Here is what I believe instead:

I believe in fully expressing ourselves by following our highest excitement.

I believe that, by focusing on that, it will lead us to synchronicities, serendipities and the universe/spirit conspiring to support us to live in abundance (eg. financially).

I believe that if we truly pursue our creative passions and inner joys and provide value for other people from the depth of our soul, that external success will follow (the followers, the mone..)

I believe in being obsessed with the process of creating rather than the outcome of it. Because what we fill with love and passion gets spread.

This doesn’t mean marketing is irrelevant. Having skills and knowledge in that area is definitely beneficial. But then it’s about always coming back to being in love with the process rather than strategizing and chasing some external goal.

It also doesn’t mean you don’t have to do your inner work around your money fears and success mindset. You might have a hard time making a good living by following your highest excitement if you believe that money is bad and that deep down you have a belief installed that you are not worthy of success.

I know many creators who have close to zero business knowledge but are crushing it with their work. They would have a hard time what marketing strategies they utilized, because that wasn’t their focus.

And I know many entrepreneurs who chase numbers and are doing all the marketing courses and implementing all the things, but who still can’t make “success” work for them.

I believe doing the inner work to remove blocks and following our highest excitement is way more important than marketing strategies and knowing the HOW.

That’s why I’m here to support you on your path to falling in love with creating even deeper and with following your intution when it comes to making business decisions.

Stuff I enjoyed this week:

  1. Video: How to Use Writing to Sharpen Your Thinking by Tim Ferriss
Writing is thinking and I will forever promote writing as the number one skill to master as a creator, entrepreneur and well, human being. I am actually in the process of writing an essay about how I use writing to help me think and structure my ideas. In the meantime, check out good old Tim Ferriss’ take on this topic. He has always been a prolific writer and inspiring thinker himself. And he was the one inspiring me to start an online business in 2011.
  2. Article: The First Creations of 10 Famous Creators and What You Can Learn From Them
If you struggle with imposter syndrome and a lack of self-confidence when it comes to sharing your creations with the world, then this is for you. We all suck at the beginning. I sucked too (just scroll back to my first Insta posts or YouTube videos). This is a great collection to make you feel better, incl. Seth Godin, Gary Vaynerchuck and Oprah..
  3. Podcast: Creativity and Self-Care with Marlee Grace on CIIS Public Programs
I recently shared Marlee’s work in one of my emails and if you checked her out, then definitely listen to this episode. Self-care is essential for anyone and also especially for creative humans, who work online. It’s often hard to draw boundaries about the times when we are and we are not. This is a great convo about the challenges we face and also about what helps.
  4. Book: Man and His Symbols by Carl Jung
You might know by now that I am a huge fan of Carl Jung. I’m fascinated by his ideas of the shadow, the unconscious, archetypes, dream analysis…all of it. Whereas most of his other books are a struggle to read for the “normal” person, this one is specifically for a wider audience. I am still reading it myself and am loving it.
  5. Instagram: The Holistic Psychologist aka Dr. Nicole LePera
She is probably Instagram’s most popular psychologist and she so deserves it. If you are interested to understand yourself better, then I highly recommend you check out her post, especially her recent series, eg. The Ego ExplainedSelf-Healing Journey Explained and Inner Child Explained. Also, this is a great recent interview with herabout healthy relationships.

?‍♂️ Quote I REALLY invite you to ponder on:

“The world can only see us as we see ourselves.”

― David R. Hawkins in Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender

Our 30 Days of Meditation project kicked off with a bang a few days ago! So awesome to see so many souls being dedicated to connect to themselves every day.

I am running a live meditation circle via Zoom today at 11am EST / 5pm CET – you are welcome to join, even if you aren’t signed up to the challenge. Here is the Zoom link.

And I would be forever grateful if you could fill out my cute little tiny survey :)) Thank you!!

With gratitude and love,
